Olivia Greenlee, a Union University student, was found shot dead outside the school in Jackson, Tennessee on February 12.

A gun was found inside the 21-year-old’s 2001 Toyota Corolla.

Investigators are treating the situation as a homicide at the moment.

Greenlee commuted to the university from Dyersburg, reported the Jackson Sun. She was engaged to fellow student Charlie Pittman, who is a biblical studies major at the university. Union University is considered as one of the top religious universities in the country.

David S. Dockery, the president of the university, said in a statement that “We are sad to learn of the death of our student, Olivia Greenlee, a senior music major from Dyersburg.”

“As we learn additional information, we will seek to share it with the Union community. Until then, please join us in praying for the family and friends of Olivia, and for the entire Union community in this hour of need.”
