Olivewood Elementary School and Sweetwater High School are on lockdown in National City on Tuesday amid a bomb threat.
Bomb threats were emails to both schools.
There is a large police presence at both schools.
“School Police in scene at Sweetwater High and Olivewood Elementary to assist with lock down and parent reunification,” tweeted the San Diego Unified School District police association.
Parents of students at the schools are being directed to Peter Piper Pizza at 30th & Highland to wait for their children to be released from the schools.
As of 11:20 a.m. PDT, the schools have been on lockdown for about two hours.
At 11:23 a.m., the police association said that Olivewood Elementary School has been declared safe.
“Students will remain in their classrooms in a lockdown status until search at Sweetwater High is completed,” it said.
