DES MOINES, Iowa  — Des Moines police say they may consider disciplinary action against an officer who accidentally fired his gun while practicing his “quick draw.”

Twenty-three-old Officer Brady Pratt told his supervisor he drew his gun from his holster Wednesday. A police report says Pratt unknowingly had his finger on the trigger and fired a round from the gun.

Pratt was inside an office at the Des Moines airport at the time of the incident. The bullet hit a ceiling tile above a door before it landed in a ceiling tile in the hallway. No one was hurt.

Sgt. Paul Parizek, a spokesman for the department, says there will be a review of the shooting and discipline is possible.

The Des Moines Register reports (http://dmreg.co/1RJ6QGw ) Pratt joined the department in 2013.
