A statue of a 10-year-old Barack Obama was removed from a park in Jakarta on Monday, only two months after it was placed there, due to complaints from critics who say they’d rather see an Indonesian hero preside over the park, reported AP.

The Facebook group to remove the tribute to the boy president gathered 57,400 members. The statue was relocated to the posh government elementary school the U.S. president attended from age 6 to 10 after his mother’s second marriage to an Indonesian.

Because of this connection, most people in Indonesia, the most populous Muslim nation in the world, think fondly of Obama. The president plans to visit the Indonesian capital March 20-22.
