President Barack Obama will meet with the Dalai Lama, despite threats from the Chinese communist regime.

White House spokesperson Bill Burton said, “The president told China’s leaders during his trip last year that he would meet with the Dalai Lama and he intends to do so,” reported Reuters. The meeting is planned for the end of the month.

The Chinese Communist Party recently denounced various world governments for meeting with the exiled Tibetan leader. Prior U.S. presidents have also been threatened, but they too went ahead with the meeting.
