The New York Police Department apparently uses multiple yellow taxis for surveillance and other work.

There’s one taxi with the license plate number 6Y11 that is used by the NYPD, reports Gawker

That’s not the only one on the road, though.

Earlier this month an Epoch Times staff member was pulled over by a police car disguised as a yellow taxi with a different license plate number.

The 6Y11 taxi is a real yellow cab,  complete with an authentic taxi medallion registered under a fake name, according to a new book by two Associated Press reporters that have been investigating the NYPD.

It’s unclear if the other taxi is also a real yellow taxi.
