Concept Korea is a global project that publicizes Korea’s fashion culture throughout the world and promotes South Korean fashion designers by assisting them in breaking into the U.S. market. This year, two womenswear designers were selected to present their next season’s collections on the runway: Kaal E Suktae by Suk-tae Lee and Jarret by Ji-youn Lee.

For Spring/Summer 2016, designer Kaal E Suktae was inspired by the second chapter of the Book of Daniel, “A Dream of King.”

In a sort of fairy tale adaptation, designer Ji-youn Lee was inspired by Snow White’s alter ego, “The Witch Queen,” for her Spring/Summer 2016 Collection. The designer believes that there are two sides to women; one good, and one not so good. Therefore, Jarret tells the story of a persona which shows the struggle between herself and her alter-ego.
