NEW YORK—New York City did not have a white Christmas—but, oh, the day after. Beginning midday on Sunday the flurries began coming down. The storm that was predicted by the National Weather Service to drop up to 16 inches of snow on the city looked to be a sure thing by mid-afternoon.

Snow is expected to continue until 5 a.m. Monday, with a 100 percent chance of precipitation and winds at 30-40 mph, with gusts up to 55 mph. This is a storm to be reckoned with.
