NEW YORK—The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for New York City until 6pm on Tuesday.

Temperatures are expected to top out at 91 on Monday with humidity near 90 percent, according to NOAA.

The elderly, children, and those with health problems are advised to take extra precaution. New Yorkers are advised to drink plenty of water, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and use an air conditioner if you have one.  

Cooling centers will be open for those who do not have air conditioners. To find a cooling center go to nyc.gov.
