The greater New York City area and New Jersey will likely see several inches of snow on Tuesday, according to weather forecasts.

The snow expected to start on Monday evening in Tennessee’s mountains before it spreads across the mid-Atlantic, heading northeast.

The greater New York City area will get hit by the storm at around 10 a.m.--with a storm dumping between 3 and 6 inches of snow along the way, reported Accuweather.com.

The Weather Channel says the storm on Tuesday will cross up the I-95 corridor from northern Virginia to New Jersey--with as much as 1 inch of snow falling per hour.

“Snow rates of that intensity will lead to snow-covered roads for a few hours, as they did in some of these same areas Sunday,” it says.

The Channel also has a low forecast of 25 degrees and a high of 34 degrees.
