The family of a WWII veteran has filed a murder charge after a shocking video emerged showing nurses laughing as the vet called for help before dying.

A hidden camera captured the moments before the death of 80-year-old James Dempsey.

Footage of the incident from the camera was obtained by news agency 11Alive in through public records requests after the veteran’s family filed a lawsuit.

The situation took place at Northeast Atlanta Health and Rehabilitation in 2014.

The video shows Dempsey repeatedly calling for help as he struggles to breathe.

While the nurses were laughing, Dempsey became unresponsive, then died.

Brookhaven Police Department in November launched a criminal investigation into the Dempsey’s death after the 11Alive investigation uncovered the footage and court depositions of the nurses.

Loyce Agyeman was charged with Felony Murder and Neglect to an Elder Person, while Wanda Nuckles was charged with Depriving an Elder Person of Essential Services.

The third nurse in the situation, Mable Turman, was charged with Neglect to an Elder Person.

All three women were also charged with Concealing the Death of Another, reported 11Alive. A grand jury indicted the women.
“Video surveillance shows the patient suffering in respiratory distress and repeatedly calling out for help,” district attorney spokeswoman Yvette Jones said in a statement, reported the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“Soon after his distress calls, the victim became unresponsive.”

A trial date has not been set as of yet.
