[xtypo_dropcap]T[/xtypo_dropcap]he third annual NTDTV Global Han Couture Design Competition offered fashion designers a stage to revive the ancient clothing designs of the Han people from the Tang, Song, and Ming dynasties.

Looking into the past for design ideas and specific features to use in their competition entries, the designers seek to express the beauty of this ancient culture, which covered the thousand years that are often called the high point of China’s civilization, from A.D. 618 to 1644.

The competition took place on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 1 p.m. in the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan, with the awards ceremony Saturday night. Stay tuned for our feature article and announcement of the winners.
