North Carolina A&T was on lockdown on Saturday after one person has been shot and taken to the hospital.

The suspects are on the loose.

The university said to stay behind closed and locked doors, but later said the lockdown was lifted.

“The incident is under police investigation. The suspects have not been identified at this time,” it said.

“The University Police Department will be visible and on high alert throughout the evening.”

The school was celebrating homecoming on Saturday night, but it’s unclear whether it was related, reported WRAL.

The lockdown was lifted because witnesses say they saw the suspect leave campus, reported Jasmine Spencer of Fox.

The shooting was outside, in Aggie Village.
