A college basketball game between St. John’s and Notre Dame devolved into a fight between players.

Fighting Irish forward Cameron Biedscheid was ejected from the game on Tuesday night for fighting and he could possibly sit out during Notre Dame’s last game of the season between Louisville on Sunday.

Biedscheid and St. John’s sophomore Sir’Dominic Pointer got into a fight, with punches thrown, near mid-court as St. John’s Red Storm ultimately lost the game in a blowout, 66-40. Other teammates on both sides attempted to separate the two.

Pointer will also be suspended in the next game for his role in the fight.

Another St. John’s sophomore, Amir Garrett, was also ejected for leaving the bench, according to NBC Sports.

College rules dictate that a player who is ejected for fighting should sit out the following game.

“Just frustrated with our performance in the second half,” St. John’s coach Steve Levin told The Associated Press. “Disappointed with our level of play the second 20 minutes because the first half was so encouraging. There were some really good things we did in the first half. But Notre Dame showed their maturity and in an old-fashioned way, in an old-fashioned manner just put us away. They put the nail in the coffin and then some.”
