Nintendo unveiled their latest handheld gaming device, the Nintendo 3DS, on Tuesday catching the attention of video game enthusiasts around the world. A preview of the new 3D model gaming device was featured at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) Conference in Los Angeles.

Electronic gurus from Wired Magazine got a sneak peak at the 3DS that boasts new 3D visual technology. The 3D technology stays spot on when held still and moved slightly.

With a 180 degree of the device the image reportedly becomes blurry similar to when you remove 3D glasses when watching a 3D movie. The Nintendo 3DS does not require special 3D glasses. Nintendo showed some short promo videos for those in attendance at the conference. The videos included clips of 3D versions of popular games such as Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid.

Nintendo’s handheld gaming devices have come a long way since its first handheld device was released. Their first handheld game system was known as Game & Watch which was followed by the first version of Game Boy. The first Game Boy was released in the U.S. in 1989 and featured a black and green screen.

Nintendo’s 3DS will not be the only new gadget highlighted at the E3 Conference. The conference has multiple companies showcasing new devices, software, and promotions throughout the week. The E3 Expo is being held through Thursday at the Los Angeles Center.

Representatives from Alienware, Activision, Intel, MTV Games, Sega of America, and Sony Online Entertainment will all be showcasing their latest gear at the conference.
