As actress Nicole Kidman prepares for Sunday night’s 83rd Academy Awards at Kodak Theatre, Kidman recalled crying in joy after receiving her third Oscar nomination on Jan. 25, nine years after she received her last one.
“My poor little daughter Sunday … I heard I was nominated and Keith [Urban] was screaming, ‘Yea!’ and jumping around the kitchen,” Kidman told the Chicago Sun-Times. “Sunday is like, ‘Why is Mommy crying now?’ I said, ‘Mommy is crying because she’s so happy.’”
Kidman, 43, married country singer Keith Urban in June 2006. The couple has two daughters: Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, 2, and 2-month-old Faith Margaret Kidman Urban.
In addition to her nomination to the Actress in a Leading Role category for her role as Becca in Rabbit Hole, Kidman will be a presenter for the ceremony, which starts at 5 p.m. PST/8 p.m. EST.
In 2002, Kidman took home the Best Actress Oscar for her role in The Hours. She received her first Oscar nomination in 2001 for her leading role in Moulin Rouge.
The ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC.
