Nick Carter and wife Lauren Kitt are featured will be a big part of the new “I Heart Nick Carter” reality show that premieres on Wednesday night.
Kitt is now Carter’s wife but the show was recorded earlier this year, meaning their wedding will be part of the program. The wedding took place in April.
Kitt, 31, works as a fitness expert, putting videos and tips on Instagram and other places on the Internet. She says her website will remain free because she enjoys helping other people lose weight and get into shape. She does have thoughts about one day producing workout DVDs.
She was actually never a fan of Backstreet Boys, preferring rock bands such as Alice in Chains instead.
Kitt loves her husband, 34, but has received death threats from fans because these fans believe Carter should be with them instead.
Kitt told Online Athens that the threats have scared her.
“I am private and I have a very small close-knit group of family and friends. I call them my tribe. I’m very sensitive and protective over them and so my worst fear was becoming vulnerable and exposing any of my family and friends to what I’ve experienced,” she said.
“I can take it and I chose to be with Nick and I chose this life and I can handle what is said about me and the attacks and threats. But when it comes to my family and friends, that’s what I was more fearful of because I didn’t want to expose them to that hatred because that’s what I’m getting.”

She did say that the hatred has died down after she and Nick got married.
“I haven’t gotten any new death threats and I haven’t gotten any nasty videos. So it has calmed down quite a lot. I was just with Nick and Jordan (Knight) on their promo [Nick & Knight] tour, and Jordan said something that was really poignant—that sometimes the meanest and worst fans are the loudest and they overshadow all the ones that aren’t. So you just dull them out and ignore them and pay attention to the ones that are loving and supportive and nice because there are more of them.”
Because both Lauren and Nick are busy, they aren’t planning on having children soon.
“I’m not ready yet, although I would like to have some children,” Lauren told OK Magazine earlier this year. “Nick is more on the baby bandwagon than I am. We'd like to have two or three.”
“The next couple years, I really want to dedicate to ourselves and our marriage and each other, because I know, once you have children, it’s all about the children,” she says. “He’s my buddy, he’s my best friend, and I'll miss that—the time that we get, which is so limited as is.”
