Niall Horan made reference to the rumors that his band, One Direction, would be breaking up.

Simon Cowell, of X-Factor, recently said the band might be finished after their next two albums.

He told the Daily Star in the UK: “Bands don’t stay together forever. I think they will make at least two more albums together and they are in the middle of one right now.”

The five members of One Direction would then “eventually” start their own solo careers, he added.

Horan said that’s not true, according to PopCrush.com.

“He was clearly misquoted or something,” he said, according to the Irish Mirror. “We’re going to go as long as we can go, as long as people want us we will be here. None of that rumors business.”

He added: “I don’t want to think about that at the minute. I’m still here, still with the band. I don’t need to think about it at all — I’m having a great time here, touring and having the craic [fun] with the lads — we are all still having a great time.”

The news comes as Harry Styles slammed critics of the group. Some have blasted the band for being more “corporate” than actual musicians.

“It’s not true! You can’t ride along on the fact that you can sell a lot of t-shirts. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the music. If the music stops being strong, then everything else goes away – it just does,” he said, according to Unrealitytv.co.uk.

And at the same time, Zayn Malik stated that’s still surprised the band is still famous. “We didn’t really expect any of it and it’s just crazy to see how it’s happened,” he said, according to SugarScape.com.
