Niall Horan and Liam Payne both denied rumors about One Direction band members “clashing” over the band’s next album.

Horan and Payne are “at war” with Harry Styles over the direction of the next album, according to one of the rumors.

Styles wants to make One Direction’s next album more rock-like, but the others don’t favor his approach and want a more pop-oriented style, a source told Metro.

“Harry’s dramatic plans are believed to have been hatched after hanging out with stars including The Rolling Stones, Elton John and Rod Stewart, who have urged him to take the next big step,” said the source, who was not named.

“Harry loves being in the band and respects and loves his band mates…,” the source was quoted as saying. “But he’s very ambitious and thinks they should be growing up more and becoming more credible.”

But Payne denied this and other reports on the issue, telling fans via Twitter: “Lots of articles saying we are clashing ... no ones clashing we are just having a bit of Family time after hitting the road for 3 years.”

Horan retweeted Payne’s tweet.

Styles hasn’t publicly addressed the purported issue.
