New York City’s Fashion’s Night Out is planned for Sept. 10 this year, before Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week starts. Its purpose is to invite people to support the fashion industry and NYC shops with stores staying open late.

Announcing the event at City Hall on Aug. 11 were (L-R) Saks CEO Stephen Sadove, Terry Lundgren, designer Tracy Reese, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, editor-in-chief of American Vogue Anna Wintour, designer Tommy Hilfiger, designer Donna Karan, designer Marcus Wainwright, actress Mary-Kate Olsen, designer Marc Jacobs, designer Carolina Herrera, CFDA executive director Steven Kolb and designer Vera Wang.
