NEW YORK—Chinese New Year celebrations took on a taste of philanthropy Feb. 12, as people from New York’s business, arts and literary community gathered for a dinner and silent auction to support Shen Yun Performing Arts.
A non-profit based in New York, Shen Yun Performing Arts is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance company. The company consists of some of the finest talent from around the world, and each year produces an all-new show of classical Chinese dance, ethnic and folk dance, as well as extraordinary operatic and classical Chinese instrumental soloists.
Masters of Ceremonies Rita Cosby, Emmy-award winning journalist, T.V. anchor and bestselling author, and Liam O’Neill, introduced the crowd to a special, behind-the-scenes program about Shen Yun.
Guests enjoyed an exquisite meal and partook in a silent auction. All proceeds went to Shen Yun.
Shen Yun Promotions International and Friends of Shen Yun hosted the dinner at 3 West Club.
