A New York City babysitter was captured on hidden cameras assaulting a six-month-old girl in Brooklyn.

Elena Bass, 36, of Staten Island, has been charged with assault and acting in a manner injurious to a child.

The nanny cam captured Bass “violently removing” the child from a changing table, and slamming the girl in an armchair, police told the New York Daily News

The baby’s suspicious parents had installed multiple cameras around their downtown Brooklyn home to make sure the babysitter was not harming their child.

But, to their dismay, they found out she was. Sources said Bass admitted assaulting the child, although her attorney Earl Roberts said “the tape isn’t accurate.”

“One of the tapes sped up at the end and the mother concurred there is a problem with the tape,” Roberts said.

The child is fine despite the alleged roughing up.

Bass majored in Women’s Leadership Studies at Salisbury University in Maryland, according to her LinkedIn, and is currently an executive director at Staten Island Feral Initiative, which tackles the issue of feral stray cats in the area.

In the profile, she says she’s “critical thinker with a passion for justice and enthusiasm for life itself.”

She added: “I hope to leave the world a kinder, smarter, more functional place, and inspire others to do the same.”
