A flood advisory was issued on Thursday by the The National Weather Service for most of New York City and parts of New Jersey.
It said that an “urban and small stream flood advisory” was issued for Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens, Manhattan, and the Bronx. New Jersey’s Bergen County also was placed under the advisory.
Reports said that heavy rain and thunder is heading to New York City over the next hour or so.
There will be scattered storms over Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York’s Long Island.
