Lacey Dewent, 14 years old, has gone missing from Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She may have been abducted by 26-year-old Robert Butler.
Butler of Florida has been charged with child solicitation for his relationship with Dewent, whom he met over the Internet.
Dewent’s mother Jessice Dewent said that Butler was found in her daughter’s bedroom in February, prompting a call to police. But that doesn’t seem to have deterred Butler.
Jessice Dewent told KQRE that her daughter is a typical 14-year-old concerned about her looks, friends, and boys.
“She was worried about everything that a teenage girl shouldn’t be worried about and this guy came along on the Internet and told her all the right things,” Jessica said.
“She’s just very caring and very loving and sees the best in everybody and every situation so, I think that’s part of what got her into this situation.”
According to the broadcaster, Butler lists his age as 19 on at least one social media website.
“The more and more I know, the more and more I’m scared,” said Jessica Dewent. “I want my daughter home, I want her away from this man.”
Lacey is described as a white female with brown hair, hazel eyes; standing 5'4” and weighing 145 pounds.
Butler is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes; standing 6'2” and weighing 180 pounds. They may still be in the local area or traveling to New Jersey or Ocoee, Florida in a Subaru Cross Trek, according to police.
