TRENTON—Mira Balteanu, originally from Ukraine, emigrated to the United States around the time of the fall of communism.
“I am one of the people who ran from communism,” she said. “A lot of Asians here are horrified, just like me, they see this creeping here in America, and that is extremely worrisome and very scary frankly.”
“Chinese people are wonderful people and they have been enslaved for generations by evil, the CCP,” she said, referring to the Chinese Communist Party. “I see the influence of the CCP coming to America and I never thought I would see that.”
“I came here to forewarn to people and make sure they fight tooth and nail to not be enslaved,” she said at a Stop the Steal rally in on Nov. 28, 2020. Thousands have been protesting against election fraud every Saturday since Election Day.
“I have kids, I want them to grow up free,” she said. “I want my children to grow up free and I want people who come here who ran from communism to be free, to continue to be free, and right now we are in very difficult times, these are very serious times in America, you could say apocalyptic times really, because I have the perspective of someone who’s lived under communism and knows how many people they killed, over 100 million people.”
The death and destruction brought about by the Communist Party in China was the same in Russia, and the same in Ukraine, she said. She grew up in a small town in Ukraine, when everyone knew the media was just state propaganda, and every night her family would tune in to Voice of America radio to try to hear the truth. It was the highlight of her day, because she knew outside her home she could not speak freely. Her family always hoped to come to America one day.
“It breaks my heart so see that people here don’t understand that, and I’m trying to educate them,” she said. “A lot of times it’s hard because schools here don’t teach real history. I’m trying to educate everyone I can.”
Schools, and the news media that won’t cover China truthfully, she added, instead repeating communist propaganda. “They’re turning this country into the same freedom-suppressing one I came from, which was a communist country,” she said. “I hope that’s where we’re going but people need to get educated.”
“The mainstream news does not give you the truth. I never thought I would come to this point,” she said. “We have to figure out how to get out of this and preserve our freedom, because that is the most important thing.”
“The CCP is the most evil entity, and really it’s a mafia, a criminal mafia,” she said, and they have spent a lot of money in the United States to make inroads in industries, institutions, and government.
“I really hope we will preserve our freedom, that is my hope right now,” she said. “I’m hopeful but I’m not sure, I’m also very, very nervous.”
“If people do realize what is at stake, for them, for their children, for their grandchildren, they could change the country around,” she said. “I am hopeful.”
Mary Fernandez said the news media don’t get to decide who is president, as many have been insisting on for the past month.
“I’m here to support true elections, not fraudulent elections,” Fernandez said.
“I think the mainstream media covers up and does not give us the truth, I think they have an agenda, an agenda to elect people they want elected,” she said. “And again, they’re not elected, the [media] just promote them. They’re an advertising campaign for the people they want in office.”
She says if this goes on there will be no true elections. “We fix this now or we can’t continue to have elections,” she said. “These are not elections, this is propaganda.”
“The election system should be examined closely by all parties, all political parties,” she said. “We need a safe and true election system, including things like Voter ID and Election Day.”
