MARLBORO, N.J. — Police stopped a New Jersey Transit bus after passengers saw something and said something.

NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith says the bus was headed from Newark to Lakewood when it was stopped atRoute 9 south and Route 520 by Marlboro police around 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police Capt. Fred Reck says some passengers had reported another passenger was acting nervous and a clock he was carrying had fallen on the floor.

Police closed the section of Route 9 until a NJ Transit canine unit cleared the scene just after 10 a.m.

Reck says the man told police he was returning home after visiting Israel and he used the clock to tell time.
The 15 passengers, including the man with the clock, were transferred to another bus.
