UCLA v USC

Rick Neheisel’s four-year reign as coach of the Bruins is over, athletic director Dan Guerrero announced Monday, two days after losing 50-0 to in-state rival USC. Despite the embarrassing loss, UCLA is the Pac-12 South champions and will play Oregon for the inaugural Pac-12 title on Saturday, a game Neuheisel will coach.

“I have a great deal of respect for Rick Neuheisel and the manner in which he has run this program during his tenure as UCLA head football coach. Decisions such as this one do not come without a great deal of heartache,” said Guerrero. “However, it is apparent to me that a move was necessary at this time in order to give UCLA the best chance to enjoy the success that we all desire.”

UCLA was 6-6 this season and just 21-28 overall in his four years on the job.
