Remember your first day at school, when you as a tiny tot were nervously and anxiously waiting at the school gate scared to take a step forward into unknown territory?

Thankfully, he had an understanding “dad” who surely had no qualms about getting down on all fours to give him the lowdown on how it’s done.

In a heartwarming short video clip that has taken the internet by storm, the curious wee pup is seen nervously trying to take a step down, but the encouragement he receives from his human parents will tug at your heartstrings.

The owner, Justin, on seeing him hesitant, walks upstairs, gets down, and puts his hands next to each other on the top landing. Seeing this, the little pup follows suit.

On the second step, Hobbes is still not convinced and lets out a few more yelps, but patient Justin encourages him and allows him to take his time.

Hobbes gets the hang of it and slowly makes his way down the stairs, paw by paw, alongside Justin, who is seen descending the staircase with his pup on his hands and feet.

The cute one is careful but makes progress on each stair as he is encouraged by the praise of his human family.

He grows more confident as he gets to the bottom wagging his little tail gleefully.

YouTube users can’t get enough of this cute pup. One user said, “Aww—no matter how many I watch this, my heart just melts. That puppy is so sweet, so adorable!”
