Neil Moore has been identified as the shooting suspect at the Dayton, Ohio VA medical center on Monday.
The situation prompted an evacuation of the center as police searched for the suspect room-to-room.
Moore was taken into custody by hospital security and Dayton Police, reported WDTN.
Officials say at least one person was shot.
The identified victim, Paul Burnside, was shot in the ankle during a struggle over the gun.
The injury is described as minor and non-life threatening.
The center is closed for the day.
