Nearly 4,900 PG&E customers briefly lost power in the area of Oakley in Contra Costa County on the morning of Sept. 26, a utility spokeswoman said.

The outage was initially reported at about 6:40 a.m. and was the result of a bird hitting an overhead power line, PG&E spokeswoman Karly Hernandez said.

The outage initially affected 4,878 customers, but more than 3,300 of them had their power restored within minutes, Hernandez said.

Three customers remain without power as of 8 a.m. and their estimated restoration time is noon, according to Hernandez.
