The NBA playoff standings for 2014 are not set in stone yet, and some teams are closing in on the bottom spots.

The Atlanta Hawks have gone on a dismal 1-9 run in the last 10 games, enabling the Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers to close in on the eighth spot.

The Charlotte Bobcats, Brooklyn Nets, and the Washington Wizards are not that far ahead either. The Eastern Conference playoff positioning could easily get jumbled in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, in the Western Conference, a similar 1-9 showing in the last 10 games for the Denver Nuggets has likely knocked them out of playoff contention.

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Memphis Grizzlies are eying the bottom slots, while the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, and Golden State Warriors are looking to hold on. Memphis is only one game behind the Suns are going 7-3 in its last 10 games (versus 5-5). Minnesota has gone 6-4 in its last 10 games.
