The NBA playoff standings in 2014 keep shifting, especially near the bottom of the top eight in each conference.

The battle for eighth place in the Eastern Conference is being watched closely, especially by the scores of New York Knicks fans. Despite having a relatively dismal 31-43 record, the Knicks are only one game behind the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks have lost six straight games.

The Charlotte Bobcats, in seventh place, have moved up several games and appear likely to make it into the playoffs.

There’s also a big battle for the eighth spot in the Western Conference, with jockeying between the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, and Memphis Grizzlies.

The Suns, with a nice 8-2 run in the last 10 games, have pushed back into the top eight. The Suns and Mavericks are currently tied with the Grizzlies a half a game back.
