NBA 2k15 will get another 25 Euroleague teams, 2k Sports said this month.
The game, which will be released sometime in 2014, will include Turkish teams as part of the roster boost.
“NBA 2K15 will feature 11 additional teams from the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, including top-level FC Bayern Munich of Germany, JSF Nanterre of France, Galatasaray Liv Hospital Istanbul of Turkey and Partizan NIS Belgrade of Serbia, bringing the total number of playable Euroleague teams to 25,” says a statement from 2K.
Jordi Bertomeu, the Euroleague Basketball President and CEO, told Cinema Blend that fans wanted more teams in response to last year’s NBA 2K14.
“After an exciting start last year, our partnership with 2K takes another strong step forward with an expansion of the Euroleague Basketball teams in NBA 2K15,” he said. “The appeal of our style of basketball to video game fans was evident right away with just 14 teams last year, and we are sure that seeing many more of them in NBA 2K15 will be another hit.”
Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant will be on the cover of the game.
“It’s something that I’ve been longing for a while,” said Durant, according to IGN. “And I’m just grateful for the opportunity.”
“I begged them to put me on the cover,” added Durant. “I really think nobody plays the game as much as I do. I wanted to be a part of it.”
Durant added : “I enjoy playing the myPlayer mode. Taking your guy through a season, getting drafted…I feel that’s how it is as a real NBA player. It’s about the journey.”
Durant said he doesn’t play with his own team “I never play with our team for some reason,“ he said. ”In my house you have to pick a random team and just play. That’s how we see how good you are.”
