National Donut Day is on Friday, June 6, and it’s possible to get free donuts at Dunkin’ Donuts, Krispy Kreme, Tim Hortons, and Cumberland Farms.

Krispy Kreme says it will offer a free donut on the day.

“Whether it’s powdered, filled or a hot Original Glazed, stop in for a free doughnut from Krispy Kreme. In honor of National Doughnut Day, on Friday, June 6, stop in to any Krispy Kreme US or Canadian location for a FREE doughnut of any variety--including its world famous Original Glazed doughnut. Includes Puerto Rico,” it says. Tim Hortons

No purchase is necessary but excludes Connecticut.

Dunkin’ Donuts also will give out a free donut on Friday with a purchase of any beverage. It also said the free donuts will be handed out “while supplies last.” 

“Dunkin’ Donuts is also helping donut lovers celebrate summer by adding something new and blue to the menu, today unveiling a new Blueberry Cobbler Donut. Featuring a yeast shell donut with delicious blueberry filling, white dipping icing and coffee cake streusel topping, the Blueberry Cobbler Donut is available at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide beginning June 2. Dunkin' Donuts has been a leader in the donut category for nearly 65 years, selling 2.5 billion donuts and MUNCHKINS donut hole treats annually. Within the United States, Dunkin’ Donuts offers more than 70 varieties of donuts, including beloved flavors such as Boston Kreme, Glazed, Chocolate Glazed Cake and Chocolate Frosted,” it says.

Tim Hortons, popular in Canada and has hundreds of locations in the U.S., will also give out a free donut with any purchase made. Customers have to say, “Happy National Donut Day.”

“National Donut Day is celebrated across the United States on the first Friday in June. The annual event originated in 1938 as a Great Depression fundraiser by the Chicago Salvation Army to honor women who served donuts to soldiers in World War I,” reads a press release from Tim Hortons. 

Cumberland Farms will also give out a free donut with a purchase of any Chill Zone bevereage or an iced or hot coffee.
