The National Dog Show was aired on Thanksgiving, like always, and another pooch was named the coveted best in show.

A 3-year-old Irish Setter by the name of Clooney with a brownish-orange color won the coveted award on the NBC show.

His handler, Peter Kubacz, told Paw Nation said that “he loves to show” and “loves the attention,” which is one of the reasons why he took home the top prize.

“He loves being in the ring and being around all the people and everyone fussing over him. He is a great show dog in that regard,” Kubacz told the pet website.

Kubacz said that he was surprised to win the competition as he only started handling Clooney three months ago.

After the win, he told MSNBC said that “he is what the breed calls for,” and noted that he shows what is best in the breed.

“In all honesty, when I came into the National Dog Show, I really didn’t expect what happened,” he told Pet Nation, adding that Clooney was definitely a dark horse contestant. “I really didn’t expect what happened. You just hope that you show good and that the judges like you.”
