NASCAR driver theft: A driver with NASCAR was released from jail on bail after he was accused of stealing another driver’s trailer in North Carolina.

Mike Harmon was arrested on Wednesday before he was charged with breaking and entering, and larceny, reported WIS-TV. He was later released on $10,000 bond.

He is accused of stealing a trailer owned by ASCAR Camping World Truck Series team and driver Jennifer Jo Cobb.

But Harmon denied the charges against him.

“I’ve been around for a long time, but I’ve never stolen so much as a piece of bubble gum and to be arrested for a felony is ridiculous,” Harmon told the station. “I did not take her hauler, I’ve not been to her shop and how they convince the law to put a warrant out after me, I don’t know,” he said.

According to Yahoo Sports, the trailer is valued at more than $250,000.

Harmon added on Twitter: “I did not take JJC hauler, there is no video of me anywhere near her shop. Today she was the windshield & I was the bug, but when we get in FEDERAL court in a couple wks there’s a boulder coming.”

Cobb, however, said on Facebook that she did not accuse anyone of any crime.

“Very important clarification: I have not accused or alleged any person in this crime. Arrests have been made based on evidence and eye witness accounts. Now... Lets go racing!” she said in a post on Thursday.
