Fashion for Relief, Naomi Campbell’s charity fashion show, will raise money for earthquake victims in Haiti on Feb. 12. The runway show is one event during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week for which ticket sales are open to the public, with the proceeds going to CARE to help rebuild the health care system for women and children in Haiti.

“I am deeply saddened by the recent tragedy in Haiti. So many have been killed and severely affected by the earthquake—women and children in particular are most vulnerable in disasters. Fashion is universal, personal, and touches everyone. Our aim is to use this season’s catwalk shows in New York to reach people and help raise crucial funds to help save the lives of women and children,” Ms. Campbell said in a press release.

Raising funds and awareness, Naomi Campbell continues her series of fashion shows dedicated to helping relieve suffering throughout the world. In 2005 she helped victims of Hurricane Katrina in the United States, and working on behalf of various causes she went to London in 2007. In 2008 she supported the White Ribbon Alliance, which helps women around the world, and in 2009 the shows went to Mumbai and Dar Es Salaam.

Each year, world-class designers donate special pieces they create just for the fundraiser. These clothes will also raise money after the event, when Net-a-porter.com sells them in an auction from March 15 to 29. According to the Web site, all net proceeds go to the White Ribbon Alliance, an organization that supports women’s health and women’s rights.

Fashion for Relief will next hold a fashion show in London on Feb. 18, the day before the London Fashion Week begins.
