Toronto—Mitchell Cohen, President of The Daniels Corporation has been awarded a Diamond Jubilee Medal at a recent ceremony hosted by the Hon. Bob Rae at the new Daniels Spectrum in Toronto’s Regent Park.

Daniels Corp. is a builder and developer of residential housing for both private and public sectors. Their track record with public housing made them an obvious choice to facilitate the revitalization of Toronto’s Regent Park community.

Daniels and the City of Toronto are currently transforming Regent Park, once a dilapidated housing project, into a vibrant, well-served, mixed-income community.

“Particularly now, in the midst of the revitalization of Regent Park, community-building and being part of the greater fabric of Canada are so important to me. I consider myself very fortunate to be so rewarded for work that I love to do,” said Mr. Cohen.

MPP Glen Murray, Minister of Transportation and Minister of Infrastructure, presented Mr. Cohen with his medal.

“Mitchell Cohen is an important contributor to Toronto, and a true community leader,” Minister Murray said. “He is a visionary who has changed the face of affordable housing in the GTA. Under his leadership, The Daniels Corporation offers generous support for causes like Second Harvest, Habitat for Humanity and various initiatives including the revitalization of Regent Park. He cares deeply about the people of Toronto, and it is an honour to celebrate his contributions with this medal.”
