Muscle Milk’s Patriotic Paint Scheme Helps High School Sports

The American Le Mans will be back in action this weekend at Connecticut’s Lime Rock Park, and the championship-leading Muscle Milk Pickett Racing HPD ARX-03a will be there sporting new patriotic livery to honor the nation’s birthday.

The flag-painted P1 HPD isn’t just about the Fourth of July. The team wants to attract attention to the Muscle Milk Recovery Grant Program which offers up to $250,000 in grants to help rebuild and revitalize high school athletic programs around the country.

“The Muscle Milk Pickett Racing team is proud to celebrate and recognize our desire to give back and do our part to make the biggest difference,” said Greg Pickett, Muscle Milk founder and owner of Muscle Milk Pickett Racing, in a company press release.

“The red, white and blue wrapping is going to look great on race day. We’re excited that our team can help tell the story of the Muscle Milk Recovery Grant Program and the importance high school athletics play in the overall development of the next generation of student-athletes.”

Applicants at least 14 years old are encouraged to apply for individual grants of up to $25,000 per school on the Muscle Milk Facebook page (www.facebook.com/musclemilk.) Students must submit written applications and photos explaining how the nominated school’s athletic programs have suffered from funding cuts. The best applicants will be chosen in December and notified next January.

To support the program Muscle Milk, a popular sports nutrition beverage, has introduced a limited-edition red, white and blue package. A portion of the profits from these specially-marked packages will help fund the Recovery Grant Program.

The flag-painted Muscle Milk HPD and a grid full of equally fast and colorful machinery will take to the track at 2:45 p.m. EDT on Saturday, July 7 for the American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix.

Also on the program will be the IMSA Cooper Tires Prototypes Lites and the Unlimited Racing Championship cars, modern versions of classic Can-Am cars powered by thundering American V8s. Tickets are available through the Lime Rock Park website, http://tickets.limerock.com/default.asp.
