I found your voice “in our own words” comforting and believe this younger generation should heed your advice more now than ever. In a digital age that indoctrinates kids into video games, mind-numbing web surfing, and being docile, I found your words motivating and something for my teens to look forward to. Self-responsibility is great and should be taught in schools, but over Zoom, it is becoming very simple to get lazy when you don’t even have to get dressed for school. Anyhow, I could go on about entitlement. ... My Noni was from Sicily and came to this country when he was 16 years old by himself and worked hard through the trials and tribulation of the 1920s and ‘30s. I am proud and grateful to be someone that got to hear and feel his history.
It is nice to know there are people like yourself pushing for the love of history and real self-fulfillment.
