Mother, Son, and Granddaughter Found Dead in Upatoi, Georgia

UPATOI, Ga.  — Authorities in Muscogee County say three people, including a teenager and a child, have been found dead after an apparent break-in at their home.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan tells the Ledger-Enquirer ( ) that Gloria Short, her son Caleb Short and her granddaughter Geonia Lindsey were pronounced dead at 9:20 a.m. Monday. Bryan says the three died from blunt force trauma.

Bryan told the Ledger-Enquirer the bodies were “scattered throughout the house.”

Authorities say Gloria Short’s husband called 911 around 8 a.m. and reported that he found the three dead when he returned home from work.

Police Maj. Gil Slouchick told the newspaper detectives were still processing the crime scene and didn’t immediately have any suspects.

Investigators on Monday afternoon recovered two vehicles that had been missing from the home.
