Ms. Hu Zhenru, 60, was arrested by the Chinese regime in the afternoon of December 10, while distributing the Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party in a supermarket in Dachang Town, Nanjing City. Her daughter, Ms. You in Hong Kong is making an urgent appeal to release her mother unconditionally.

According to Ms. You, her mother was tipped off to police by someone while distributing The Nine Commentaries in the supermarket in the afternoon of December 10. The police from the Xichangmen Police Station arrested her at around 3 p.m.

She said, “About 4 p.m. in the afternoon, police went to my mother’s home with a locksmith and broke the lock to enter her home. They then illegally ransacked the home and took away with them Falun Gong books and a computer. They did not leave any legal [search warrant] document.”

Ms. You said that her mother did not break any law for distributing The Nine Commentaries. “The police’s illegal actions should be exposed,” commented Ms. You.

She also pointed out that police who have persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners in China won’t be able to escape the punishment of the law, and will be investigated by the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG http://www.zhuichaguoji.org/en/

She also revealed that her father and sister visited her mother at around 5 p.m. on December 10 at the Xichangmen Police Station. When they went back to deliver some clothing to her mother late that night, they were told that she had been transferred to the Nanjing Detention Center.

An Epoch Times reporter called the Nanjing Police Station late that night and asked the person on duty what charge was used to arrest Ms. Hu. The person just vaguely replied that he did not know.

Since The Epoch Times published The Nine Commentaries in 2004, the book has been widely spread in China and has inspired many people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations through the Epoch Times website or other channels. Thus far, at least 46,599,422 Chinese have withdrawn from the CCP.

For the past four years, many Falun Gong practitioners have actively participated in the distribution of The Nine Commentaries and in advising people to quit the CCP. The Chinese regime has been trying hard to suppress this movement. Reports keep surfacing that Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested or beaten up for distributing The Nine Commentaries.

An example was Ms. Guo Lifang of Hunan Province, a Falun Gong practitioner. On March 31, 2005, police sent her to a detention center and tortured her after they found a copy of The Nine Commentaries on her desk. The authorities informed her family the morning of April 17 that Ms. Guo had died of unnatural causes.
