A mother and daughter were killed in a crash involving three cars on a wet road in Burleson, Texas, on the evening of Sunday, Jan. 7.

A minivan carrying a family of four was stopped on the 2300 block of Renfro Street at about 5:45 p.m. and was waiting to make a left turn when a Ford F-150 pickup did not see the minivan and struck it from behind, reported Dallas News, citing police.

Department of Public Safety Sgt. Dub Gillum said the minivan was then pushed into oncoming traffic and was hit by a Ford Ranger pickup truck that was carrying two passengers.

The mother and daughter in the minivan died at the scene. The father and another daughter were taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in a critical condition, reported the newspaper, citing Gillum.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victims as Lorissa Quan, 36, of Burleson, and her daughter, Hannah Quan, 7, reported the Star-Telegram.

The driver of the F-150 and two passengers in the Ranger were injured and transported to the hospital.

Officers from the Texas Department of Public Safety said the driver of the F-150 was looking down when he struck the minivan from behind, reported NBC.
This is a developing story. More information will be released later.
