A mother and daughter in Beaverton, Oregon found out that they had cancer within an 11 day span.

Summer Ruelle found out she had stage IV breast cancer last fall, and 11 days later her daughter Sapphire was diagnosed with luekemia.

“You could never imagine that you could have such timing,” said Ruelle to local broadcaster NWCN.

The two are taking it well, with help from Summer’s husband Pascal, who left his job to become a full-time caregiver. Fundraisers have brought in money, and friends have helped with the couple’s 6-year-old son Jayden.

Dr. Jason Glover, with the Randall Children’s Hospital and who has been helping treat Sapphire, said that the family has has “tremendous grace under a lot of pressure.”

There’s good news, too--Sapphire has a good chance of being cured, and the Make-A-Wish foundation recently gave the family a vacation to Disneyworld.
