A Maryland mother and her 2-year-old daughter were found dead in Prince George’s County on Tuesday morning.

Neshante Alesha Davis was found in the parking lot of Pinewood Hill Condominiums, in the 2300 block of Palmer Road, around 7 a.m.

Police found her young daughter Chloe in a nearby car.

“The woman was pronounced dead on the scene. The toddler was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead,” Prince George’s County Police Department spokeswoman Julie Parker told WTOP.

“At this point, this is a very active police investigation. We can’t get into a lot of details at this point because of that.”

The crime left Angela Alsobrooks, the county state’s attorney, “enraged.”

“This is absolutely unacceptable in any civilized society that a child should be killed in this way,” Alsobrooks said.

“This is a profoundly sad day, and my prayers go out to the family of the victims of this crime that frankly shocks the conscious,” added Prince George’s County Interim Police Chief Hank Stawinski during a press conference, reported Fox5.

“The notion that someone would be bold enough to take the life of a child, take the life of a young woman, and think there would not be consequences is simply unacceptable in Prince George’s County.”

Davis was a first-year teacher at Bradbury Heights Elementary School, family members said.
