Sources close to Microsoft have announced that the software giant plans to demonstrate more features of Windows 10 at an event scheduled for January 2015.

Unlike before the new features will be consumer-oriented. While Microsoft will be present at CES 2015 in early January, the new functionality of Windows 10 will be unveiled at a separate press event in late January where the consumer preview of Windows 10 will be shown to the public.

Microsoft promised it would do that in “early 2015” which shows that the company is on track with the new version of Windows.

Furthermore unlike the event where Windows 10 was unveiled for the first time the new press event will be more significant. This is so because Microsoft has a large number of features to demonstrate including a new touch interface called Continuum.

The software company will also talk about its plans for Windows phones and tablets and likely about updates for its own Xbox One gaming console.

Microsoft will spread more details about the upcoming Windows 10 event before the end of 2014. The new OS will come with numerous improvements compared to older Windows versions and will run on numerous devices including PCs, tablets, smartphones, tablets and the Xbox One.
