Another bus carrying illegal immigrants arrived outside Vice President Kamala Harris’ home in Washington on Oct. 13, while three more buses pulled up in New York City.

Thirty-six migrants arrived early Thursday morning near the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington, which houses Harris’ residence, according to Fox News. Throngs of men and women carrying small bags or pillows could be seen in video footage of the scene.

The network reported that three more buses arrived at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan, near Times Square.

In recent months, the Republican governors of several border states, as well as the Democrat mayor of El Paso, Texas, have relocated illegal migrants to Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C.

Busing Strategy Providing ‘Much-Needed Relief’

In recent weeks, several buses filled with people who illegally crossed U.S. borders have been transported to Harris’ District of Columbia home. The last reported migrant transport before Thursday’s load was on Oct. 6, when more than two dozen illegal aliens, including men, women, and children, got off a bus from Texas in the early morning, Fox News and NBC reported.

On Oct. 11, Harris accused Texas Gov. Greg Abbott of “dereliction of duty” when the vice president was asked about illegal migrants being sent to Washington.

“They’ve fled great harm, and they are coming here [to the United States] seeking refuge,” Harris said in an interview with NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

“I just think it’s an absolute dereliction of duty. If you see a problem and if you agree that we need to address it, then if you’re a leader, participate in a solution,” she said.

Abbott’s office told The Epoch Times that they’ll continue sending illegal border-crossers to Democrat-run cities. They said it’s the best way to solve the “ongoing humanitarian crisis” caused by the Biden administration’s open border policies.

“The dereliction of duty is President Biden and Border Czar Harris’ refusal to uphold their oaths of office and secure our southern border. The Biden Administration’s reckless open border policies have created an ongoing humanitarian crisis, as historic levels of illegal immigrants, terrorists, and deadly drugs like fentanyl surge across the southern border and into Texas communities,” Renae Eze, press secretary of Abbott‘s office said in the email.

“Until President Biden and Border Czar Harris do their jobs, Texas will continue bringing the border to them and busing migrants to help our overrun border towns.”

Texas has bused over 8,000 illegal migrants to the U.S. capital since April, Abbott’s office said in a statement Sept. 16. It added that over 2,500 had been dropped off in New York City since Aug. 5, and more than 600 bused to Chicago since late August. The program provides “much-needed relief to our overwhelmed border communities,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, chartered two planes in September to send illegal immigrants from San Antonio to Martha’s Vineyard, as part of the state’s “relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations.”
While such moves drew harsh criticism from left-wing mayors, reports indicate that El Paso, a border city whose mayor is a Democrat, bused more illegal immigrants to New York and Chicago than the state’s Republican governor. Since late August, El Paso has sent roughly 7,000 illegal aliens to New York City and over 1,800 to Chicago, according to an Oct. 6 report by Reuters.
