The Biden administration on May 17 announced that American families will begin receiving monthly payments from an expanded child tax credit starting July 15.

President Joe Biden, in a statement, said that about 90 percent of families who have children will get the tax relief automatically as part of the American Rescue Plan, which was passed by Congress and signed into law by Biden earlier this year.
