Montana’s son 49ers: Nate Montana officially accepted an invitation to attend the 49ers rookie minicamp.

“The expectations sometimes may be unrealistic,” Montana told the San Fransisco Chronicle. “But then also it may open a door, so you can’t complain about it.”

Montana is the son of NFL legend Joe Montana, who entered the Hall of Fame after winning four Super Bowl Games.

The 23-year-old Montana played college football for four different schools — Pasadena City College, Notre Dame, Montana and Division II West Virginia Wesleyan, where he concluded his career.

At West Virginia Wesleyan, Montana started nine games last season and completed 225 of 436 passes for 2,480 yards and 19 touchdowns with seven interceptions and 12 sacks.

Montana’s agent Marty Magid told Comcast Sports Net that three other teams invited Montana to their minicamps but he had already accepted the offer from the 49ers.

“He’s going there and hopefully get a contract,” Magid said.
