Parents Becki-Jo Allen and Liam Tierney told their daughter, Indiana, that she was going to be a big sister.

The two, however, were shocked when she looked at Becki-Jo’s ultrasound. Instead of one head, there were three.

“It was the biggest shock of my life! We haven’t got any triplets in the family so it came completely out of the blue,” Becki-Jo told the Liverpool Echo.

After weekly tests and scans, the three children were born via C-section at 31 weeks. She named them Rocco, Roman, and Rohan.

“When they were newborns it was quite hard to tell which one was which, but I never got them mixed up myself,” Becki told the Daily Mail. “They’ve all got dark birthmarks between their eyebrows, but Roman’s is slightly darker than the others,” she added.

“When they were in the hospital, the doctors said they were non-identical, but since they came home lots of people have said they can’t tell them apart,” she recalled.

The mother said that after a genetic test, doctors revealed the three are identical.

“I was surprised because I expected them to be non-identical,” she said.

“But then I’m normally the only one who can tell them apart, so that does explain a lot!”

After taking the three home, they began to develop their own personalities.

“Rohan is the loud one, he’s always shouting,” she told the Mail. “Rocco is normally quite laid-back, but he can be feisty too, while Roman is usually complaining that he doesn’t want to share.”

Of her older daughter, Indiana, she said that “Indiana loves them, she’s not one bit jealous – I do feel a bit sorry for her when I think what it’s going to be like growing up with three little brothers though.”

After they were born, the triplets went through about 130 diapers per week between them and four packs of baby wipes. The washing machine is run about three times per day.

Now, Becki-Jo posts the three on social media on a regular basis.
